Lydia's 1st Race (1.2 miles)

On Saturday, Lydia ran in her first race.  It was a 1.2 mile fun run, sponsored by Stroller Fit.  She was so excited to be able to run a race with her daddy.  We signed her up on Wednesday, and all she could talk about between Wednesday and Saturday, was running super fast in the race.  She kept telling me that she was going to run super fast and win the golden trophy.  Now mind you, there was not going to be a golden trophy.  All the participants would receive a medal at the end of the race.
Well, jump ahead to 5:20 Saturday morning.  Yes, I said 5:20.  Our little runner was so excited about the race, that she was up at 5:20 and her little sister had gotten up with her.  Mommy and Daddy were not ready to be up that early.  So, I put both girls back to bed, Lydia crying the whole time and we finally let them get back up at 6:45 I think.  Remind me not to tell Lydia about another race until she is eating breakfast the morning of. :)
We headed downtown and had to be there to start the race at 8:30.  We got there and Lydia did some stretching with Daddy and then they got ready to run.  It was so cute to see all these little kids running this race.  Lydia finished her 1.2 miles in about 15 minutes, which actually is not too bad.  As they neared the finish line, Lydia was walking, but when she saw the finish, she started running again with pure determination.  She did not even see me or Tessa waving to her, she was that focused.  It was so cute.  After she crossed the finish line, she got a medal.  Here are some pictures from the say.  The ones of the shoes, are her new running shoes that we got the other day.  Isn't she adorable?  I am so proud of her and she had so much fun!
